mt-g - the first 10 years:
75 million translated words for the field of medicine

Ulm, September 30th, 2008. mt-g - European market leaders in technical medical translations – are celebrating their 10th anniversary on October 10th, 2008. In the past decade this Ulm-based company has translated approximately 75 million words for the world of medicine into more than 150 languages. mt-g currently employs 36 permanent staff, including 6 trainees, and more than 600 freelance translators.
mt-g was founded in 1998 by Gerlinde and Andreas Bendig, who now head the company as managing partners. The range of services comprises translations and information management exclusively for the world of medicine. Specialisms include the translation of operating instructions for medical devices and diagnostic products, authorization documentation and patient information leaflets for pharmaceuticals as well as product information for the field of dentistry. mt-g also supports companies operating at global level, in the optimization of their translation processes, thus making a significant contribution towards cost reduction.
mt-g has a clientele of more than 1,000 worldwide in the medical and pharmaceuticals industry. The high degree of specialization in medicine and related technical fields is a particularly decisive factor in the success of mt-g. "Top quality in specialized medical translations can only be achieved with special know-how and highly qualified experts. This leaves no time for other sectors of industry", says Andreas Bendig explaining the company philosophy.
mt-g translations are carried out exclusively by native speakers who meet the company's demanding quality standards.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary mt-g has published a special issue of its customer magazine "Beipackzettel" [‘Package Insert’] (circulation 6,700). In addition to the history of the company and a detailed introduction of the entire mt-g team, this issue (No. 16) includes congratulations from Ernst Pfister, Baden-Württemberg’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Ivo Gönner, Lord Mayor of the city of Ulm, Dr. Peter Kulitz, President of the Ulm Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Philipp Daniel Merckle, initiator of the "World in Balance" campaign and Karlheinz Böhm’s foundation "Menschen für Menschen".
