Translation memories

Sentences, paragraphs, or text segments that have already been translated are stored in a kind of database called a translation memory (TM). When translating new documents, the TMs automatically show matches with identical or similar segments that have already been translated. This means that identical sentences, paragraphs, or text segments do not have to be translated again. Therefore, translation memories are able to improve the quality, efficiency, and consistency of every translation process.
