E-E-A-T principles

E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness – four important criteria that Google uses to evaluate the quality of websites and content.

The four pillars of E-E-A-T

Experience

This term refers to the author’s direct and practical experience with the topic. Google evaluates whether the author has personal experience with the products, services, or topics they write about.

Expertise

This term evaluates the professional competence and expertise of the author on a specific topic. Formal qualifications and proven expertise are important here.

Authoritativeness

This looks at the reputation and recognition received by a website or author in their field. Authorities are seen by others as a trustworthy source of information.

Trustworthiness

This evaluates how trustworthy and credible a website and its content are. Transparency, accuracy, and sources play an important role here. Google uses these criteria to identify high-quality and trustworthy content and prioritizes it in the search results. It is therefore important for website operators and content creators to take these aspects into account when creating content in order to increase the visibility and credibility of their websites.
